An Experienced Georgia Eminent Domain Law Firm
What is “Eminent Domain”?
Eminent domain is the power of the government to take private property for public use upon payment of just and adequate compensation. The process involves condemnation of your property, appraisal of the property’s value, and negotiation of compensation. If the property owner is dissatisfied with the offered amount of compensation for the property taken, then a lawsuit is filed.
Carothers & Mitchell, LLC has represented both governmental authorities and private property owners during the eminent domain process, including trying condemnation cases before a jury. We understand the process from beginning to end and from the perspective of both the condemning body and the private property owner. This experience allows us to protect our clients during all states of the eminent domain process.
